Truth & Value
This morning in the early hours of not sleeping, I watched a training video on a different style of portraits. I'm always interested in other photographers and what is working for them or not. So, in this video it happened to line up with something that has been on my mind lately. The value we place on a photograph. A week or so ago, another photographer posted on Facebook a photo of his parents. He began to talk about not realizing at the time the value of that portrait. His father passed, and the portrait of his parents, reflecting their love, their relationship became priceless not just to him, but of course to his mom. That post touched me, because I'm very guilty of hiding behind the camera. Rarely are their photos of me and my family. How about you? Realizing this made me sad and made me want to do something about it.
Photos are taken so lightly, just pull out your smartphone and shoot away. But, what about something lasting? What about capturing a moment in time with those you love? What about recording for the future those who are special to you? I think the truth is, we have all gotten away, innocently away, from being aware of those we value.
From my last blog post about finding the Beauty In You and now sharing the value of a photograph. You can see, more about who I am as a photographer and I can see more direction for my photography. I am deeply passionate about what I do, and care about everyone that has been or will be in front of my camera. Photographing people is from my heart. It's a privilege to do what I do, and I hope that I can share how much I value each session and give all of my attention to making it a wonderful experience and a lasting memory for you.
In closing I will tell you, what I tell my clients, "When we are through with this session, I want you to see yourself the way I see you and I want you to always remember it."
Make your day great!
